Summer Internship Google – Software Engineer, Silicon Software Product In Round Rock

Job Description:

The Silicon team develops custom silicon solutions that provide differentiated user experiences in Google Hardware products and optimize performance and power for the targeted use cases. This includes SoCs (systems on a chip) and other mixed signal, logic, and sensor ICs (integrated circuits) for our product portfolio. The Silicon team also guides the deployment of designed silicon into our products, and supports product teams on successful commercialization of the product offerings.

Job Responsibilities:

• Gather BSP (Board Support Package) requirements from Product and SiVal (Silicon Validation) hardware teams.
• Debug hardware and software issues on emulation and hardware platforms.
• Develop, customize, and integrate BSP software (e.g., ROMs, bootloaders, device drivers, RTOS and RTOS’s drivers).
• Work with product teams to ensure successful deployment of product to the market.
• Bring-up BSP software on emulation and hardware platforms, to support SiVal hardware efforts and silicon enablement in the product.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• Experience debugging technical challenges at the boundary between hardware and software.
• 5 years of software development experience with Embedded Systems/Firmware using C/C++.
• 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
