    Job Description:

    The mission of the FBI’s Health Care Fraud Case Support Team is to assist in the investigation of fraud cases involving major health care providers that operate in multiple jurisdictions and issues of national priority that require a rapid response.  The team works with DOJ’s National Rapid Response Strike Force (NRRSF).   The FBI Health Care Fraud Unit (HCFU) established the Health Care Fraud National Response Team (HCFNRT), which is comprised of Special Agents, to work with the DOJ Trial Attorneys on the NRRSF.  The FoAs will work in support of the FBI’s Health Care Fraud Case Support Team, supporting both criminal and civil investigations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Handle assignments related to highly complex financial investigations where a thorough forensic accounting of financial records is required.
    • Serve as an expert forensic accountant and authority in the identification, examination, and analysis of financial data associated with domestic/international white collar crime, counterintelligence, counterterrorism,
    • cyber crime and/or other high priority FBI jurisdictional violations.
    • Plan, coordinate, and direct the examination of financial aspects of the investigation.
    • Mentor and instruct inexperienced Forensic Accountants.
    • Compile extremely complex financial findings and conclusions to prepare in-depth forensic accounting reports and communications.
    • Provide authoritative expertise with regard to accounting and financial practices, world-wide securities, banking laws and systems, conventional and non-conventional financial institutions, national and international profit and non-profit businesses.
    • Prepare and testify as an expert witness in criminal proceedings, as needed.

    Job Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Some travel may be required. The FoA will exclusively be working with the National Response Team in coordination with HCFU. Some domestic travel may be required. Amount of required travel varies from 0-25%.
    • If the selectee is not an on board FBI Financial Analyst or FoA, the selectee approved for hire will be required to attend a mandatory five-week Forensic Accountant Core Training Session (FACTS) held at the FBI Training
    • Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Once training dates are established, employees will be notified in advance.
    • Selectee will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 annually
    • Must be a current, permanent FBI employee
    • Selectee will be required to complete form FD-887, Request for Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
    • Must be able to obtain an SCI clearance
    • In order to be given promotional consideration, current Forensic Accountants that have completed FACTS 18-02 or later must have completed their New Forensic Accountant Development Program (logbook) prior to the closing of this job opening.
